I am a psychologist who integrates the best of what we know from research in the fields of psychology and neuroscience, with innovative methods from the contemplative practices such as mindfulness, meditation and energy balancing. I love working with individuals, couples, parents, families and teams from what I call this “best of both worlds” approach. I bring a grounded, empathic presence to the room, yet play an active role in the therapeutic process with fresh ideas, a good sense of humor and current research at my finger tips.

I am fortunate to be personally trained and certified by Drs. John & Julie Gottman, world-renowned relationship experts, to work with couples privately, teach the Art & Science of Love Weekend Workshop, and to train therapists to work more effectively with couples using the Gottman Method. I also offer Marathon Therapy for couples traveling in from out of town looking for intensive work over the course of a day or two.

Working beyond the confines of the Gottman approach, which is a research-based method grounded in the Sound Relationship House Theory, I work with each of you to “get your own house in order” by helping you to focus on your own growing edges, how to use your own strong emotions as doorways to understand and to develop your true, best self. When you bring the true you to your relationship it can truly thrive! Mindfulness practices and energy balancing exercises that teach and encourage skills to keep you grounded, calm, present and open-hearted are seamlessly infused into the work.

As a longtime, passionate runner, I have developed strategies for runners to enhance running quality and performance through energy balancing, and to use running as an important tool for personal transformation. I have also developed and teach running meditations. If you are interested in unique ways to embrace and transform your strong emotions as you run, you can learn to move through the world as the bright light you are meant to be.

In a nutshell, my primary focus is to help you find your way back to your true self, and to learn to stay grounded and present so that you can embrace whatever challenges life throws at you with confidence, grace and courage.
